Eligibility:                                                                                                                        

The Last Best Fest Juried Art Exhibition & Sale is open to residents of Colorado, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.

Entries:

Acrylic, drawings, mixed media, non-commercial prints, photography, oil, watercolor, and small 3-D sculptures are acceptable.  All works must be original and made by the artist.  2-D image size cannot exceed 48” horizontal (excluding frame).  3-D works cannot exceed 3’x3’x6’ or weigh over 50 lbs.  Artist may submit up to five pieces for jurying.

Entry Fee:

Entry fee is not refundable. $25 for first 3 entries; $10.00 for each additional entry (max 5 entries).

Awards:

Cash prizes: 1st - $500, 2nd - $250, 3rd - $150, 4th - $50, People’s Choice - $50. 6 Honorable Mentions (no cash) will be given. 

Submission Guidelines for the Jury Process:

Applications are to be submitted online at Submittable.

Images should be a maximum of 1200 x 800 pixels, 300 dpi.  Accepted formats are JPEG, and PSD. The $25.00  application fee is due at the time of submission. 

 Accepted Artwork:

Artists will be notified via email of the juror’s results.

Upon shipment of work to the Last Best Fest Juried Art Exhibition & Sale, the work accepted for the exhibit must be marked with: Artist Name, Title, Medium, Dimensions, Retail Price and Date of Execution. 

2D work should include a secure wire hanger on the back.  No sawtooth hooks please.

Liability:

Artists are asked to carry their own insurance. There are three separate premises where the art will be shown and all reasonable precautions for safeguarding artwork will be taken.  However, the Last Best Fest Juried Art Exhibition & Sale cannot assume responsibility for loss or damage incurred during transport, installation, display, or return of artwork.

Sales:

All pieces must be for sale. The Last Best Fest Juried Art Exhibition & Sale manages all sales and receives a 40% commission on the retail price.

Shipping:

Upon notification of acceptance, work may be shipped or hand-delivered (see dates below).  LBF staff will make every effort to save shipping boxes. However, staff will not save damaged boxes for use in return of artwork. The artist is responsible for all delivery and return packing, insurance, and shipping costs. Artwork should arrive with a pre-paid return label.  All returns will be managed by the local UPS/FedEx outlet.  Please do not send cash to the LBF for return shipping costs.

About Juror/Judge, Mark Browning:

Mark Browning operated a private art gallery and studio for fifteen years before serving as Executive Director/ Curator position at WaterWorks Art Museum.  After a total of nearly 20 years total there, retirement came in 2013. Artworks are primarily in transparent watercolor painting using non-traditional technique on smooth surface along with wood constructions.  His works are included in over 100 exhibitions and collections. He has earned signature status in two national W/C societies: the Transparent Watercolor Society of America and the National Watercolor Society.
